Natuurlijk wil je zeker weten dat je kind in vertrouwde handen is. In 2019 ben ik (met succes) volledig gescreend. Hierdoor ben ik tevens in het bezit van een VOG.

Of course you want to make sure your child is in safe hands. In 2019 I was thoroughly (and successfully) screened. As a result I am also in the possession of a Certificate of Conduct.

Mariëlle van Leerstation Haarlem heeft 2 jaar bijles gegeven aan mijn zoon. Hij zat toen in groep 7 en 8 en had wat extra begeleiding en uitleg nodig met grammatica en begrijpend lezen. Inmiddels zit mijn zoon op de middelbare school en kan goed meekomen. Hij heeft nu zelfs een voorsprong met grammatica ;-). Het voordeel van de bijles is geweest dat het even de tijd en rust heeft gegeven om de kennis over te brengen. Mariëlle heeft dat op een hele goede en bijzondere manier gedaan. De kennis is goed ingedaald, waardoor mijn zoon vertrouwen heeft gekregen in de materie. Mariëlle is betrokken, sociaal en kan zich goed inleven in het denkniveau van het kind. Ze is rustig en heeft ook aandacht en inzicht in pedagogiek. Hierdoor bouwt ze een leuke relatie op met de kinderen. Mijn zoon vond het altijd heel leuk om naar bijles te gaan!

Mariëlle was my mentor during my five month internship at Air Transat in Schiphol-Rijk. As part of the Sales and Marketing team I helped with the day to day operations whilst writing my thesis for my International Tourism Bachelor. Mariëlle not only taught me how to use the companies systems and perform my tasks properly, she also guided me with my thesis. Having done multiple internships I know now this is not often the case. I was lucky that Mariëlle was also able to help me on an academic level, this way I was able to finish my last semester as one of the top students of my study. Mariëlle brought in her own ideas, knowledge and experiences to make my internship a valuable experience. Furthermore, she made sure I was an equal part of her team and even helped me learn a little bit of Dutch. She is very dedicated to her students and when I graduated she even came to my graduation, which must have been quite the drive for her. It meant a lot to me to have her support and overall she helped and taught me more than my coach from school.

Ik vond de training Begrijpend Lezen goed en ik heb mijn cito’s beter gemaakt. Dat vond ik heel fijn. Ik vond het ook gezellig om met de andere leerling op bijles te zitten. Ik wil juf Mariëlle bedanken voor de goede lessen.

Mirella Vermaire-Paauw

Mijn zoon zit in groep 7 en doet het best goed op school. Toch merkten we thuis dat er bepaalde lesonderdelen waren waarmee hij iets meer moeite had. Daarvoor krijgt hij nu af en toe een uur bijles van Mariëlle. Hij voelt zich helemaal op zijn gemak bij haar en gaat met veel plezier naar de lessen van Mariëlle . Zij helpt hem met wat meer vaste routines en structuur te werken en legt hem sommige onderwerpen nog wat uitgebreider uit. Hierdoor voelt hij zich zekerder over de lesstof en zien we dat ook terug in zijn resultaten op school!

Marielle is an outstanding teacher! Both my son and I have been having individual lessons on zoom for over a year and we can highly recommend Marielle to anyone looking to improve their Dutch language skills and build their confidence. I am British and when we moved to Holland from Hong Kong just over 18 months ago my son spoke limited Dutch but absolutely refused to have extra lessons! I "persuaded" him to try 6 sessions with Marielle and after the very first lesson with her all his resistance fell away! He really enjoyed the sessions and in addition to building his language skills Marielle provided a really important source of support and a safe space to ask questions and talk in more detail about life in Holland, as well as checking in about school tasks like his spreekbeurt and boek bespreken. I am very grateful to have found Marielle as her help has made an enormous difference for my son during his last year and a half of basisschool and the lead up to the all important middelbare school advies! My own experience with Marielle has been equally positive - I am a pretty terrible student, often badly prepared, struggling with motivation and frustrated, however she has been so patient and accommodating and continues to encourage me to stick with it! The lessons are always enjoyable with a mixture of content that is personalised to my level and interests and I really appreciate the planning, as well as Marielle's sense of humour and care.
